Apple Kalakand is a fusion dessert that combines the traditional Indian sweet Kalakand with the goodness of apples. It's a delightful treat that's perfect for festivals, special occasions, or simply to satisfy your sweet cravings. Here's a simple recipe to make Apple Kalakand at home:

Ingredients:

2 cups grated apples (peeled and cored)

2 cups full-fat milk

1 cup crumbled paneer (Indian cottage cheese)

1/2 cup condensed milk

1/4 cup powdered sugar (adjust to your taste)

1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

A few saffron strands (optional, for garnish)

Chopped nuts (like almonds, pistachios) for garnish

Instructions:

Start by preparing the grated apples. Peel and core the apples, then grate them using a grater or a food processor. Set aside.

In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the full-fat milk over medium heat. Stir occasionally to avoid burning at the bottom.

When the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent the milk from sticking to the pan.

As the milk thickens, add the crumbled paneer to the pan. Continue stirring and cooking until the mixture starts to come together.

Add the condensed milk and powdered sugar to the pan. Mix everything well and cook until the mixture reaches a thick, fudgy consistency.

Now, add the grated apples to the pan and mix them with the milk and paneer mixture. Cook for a few more minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.

Stir in the cardamom powder, which adds a wonderful aroma to the Apple Kalakand.

Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the mixture to a greased plate or tray. Spread it evenly using a spatula.

Let the Apple Kalakand cool down to room temperature. You can refrigerate it for a couple of hours to set it further.

Once the Kalakand is set, cut it into desired shapes (squares or diamonds). Garnish with saffron strands and chopped nuts like almonds and pistachios.

Your delicious Apple Kalakand is now ready to be served! Enjoy this unique and tasty dessert with your loved ones.
