Relieves stress
Strawberries have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which help relieve stress. Apart from this, the consumption of strawberries is also beneficial for the elderly suffering from the problem of high blood pressure. According to scientists, it contains a high amount of potassium, which helps control blood pressure. This study builds on previous research demonstrating the benefits of strawberries to heart, cognitive health, and metabolism.

Research was done on these people
Scientists included 35 healthy men and women in the age group of 66 to 78 years in the study to assess the benefits of this fruit. Participants consumed 26 grams of frozen strawberry powder. It was observed that cognitive processing speed increased by 5.2 percent, systolic blood pressure decreased by 3.6 percent, and total antioxidant capacity increased by 10.2 percent after consumption of strawberries.

Keeps heart healthy
Apart from this, the thickness of the waist also decreased by 1.1 percent. Shireen Hoschmand, a professor in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at San Diego State University, said this study demonstrates that consuming strawberries may boost cognitive function and improve cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure. Scientists said that strawberry is a very beneficial fruit. Including strawberries in the daily diet can have a very positive effect on the health of the young as well as the elderly.

Many nutrients are present in strawberries
Strawberries are the main source of many bioactive compounds. In addition to meeting 100 percent of our daily vitamin C requirement, strawberries contain heart-healthy nutrients like folate, potassium, fiber, phytosterols, and polyphenols. The findings of this study were recently presented at Nutrition 2023, the annual meeting of the American Society of Nutrition (ASN) held in the US.

Fiber-Rich Strawberries
Studies have shown that the soluble fiber present in strawberries also lowers the level of bad cholesterol. Clinical and population-based studies have found associations between strawberry consumption and brain health. Studies conducted at Rush University reported that pelargonidin, a bio-chemical found in strawberries, is associated with a lower risk of Alzheimer's and dementia.
