Elon Musk's company SpaceX has launched six satellites which are for mobile phone connectivity. With the help of these satellites, phone connectivity will be possible even in those areas where there is no access to connectivity.
Elon Musk has claimed that due to these satellites, phone connectivity will be possible in any corner of the earth. Musk further said that these satellites support 7Mbps beams and these beams are very heavy. This will make connectivity possible in complex areas but it cannot compete with traditional cellular networks.
Why is Starlink Internet not for everyone?
Elon Musk has said that Starlink's satellite internet is especially for those areas where direct connectivity through towers is not possible. In other words, Starlink's satellite internet is much like the satellite connectivity that comes in Apple's iPhone.
In such a situation, Starlink's satellite internet will be supported only in those smartphones or devices that have satellite connectivity. The satellite aims to provide connectivity for text, voice, and LTE phones. SpaceX can start its satellite connectivity by 2025.
