-If you have iPhone, then go to the settings of WhatsApp and turn off Save to Camera Roll.
-If you do not want to automatically download photos and videos sent by a particular person or group, then open WhatsApp and go to that chat. Now click on View Contact/Group Info. After this turn off Media Visibility.
