If I liked the taste then I ordered it from outside again and again. Whenever you go out of the house, you eat 'junk food'. Even when I had a party with friends, I still had junk food. Don't let friendship with junk food spoil your sleep, because scientists all over the world are unanimous that junk food is taking away people's sleep.
A recent report by Britain's Royal Society has given women sleepless nights. According to this report, the risk of insomnia is 40 percent higher in women than in men. Even before this, in a report from Britain's Obstetrics, it had been revealed that the sleep cycle of 94 percent of pregnant women gets disturbed during pregnancy.
Those who sleep late or have frequent sleep disturbances may have mental and physical health problems, but the more worrying thing is that such men and women never get deep sleep. Which is very important. Many researches show that whatever we eat has a direct impact on our sleep. Therefore, if you consume too much of sugary drinks, burgers, French fries, and spicy food, you may be forced to toss and turn repeatedly at night.
Scientists and many researchers have shown that the consumption of junk food affects the quality of our deep sleep to a great extent. There are mainly five stages of sleep, the third stage of which is deep sleep, known as slow-wave sleep or non-rapid eye movement (NREM). This is the most important phase of the sleep cycle, because it is in this that we get the most restful sleep. If this phase of sleep is not proper, we may face many problems.
Study shows
A study was published in the journal 'Obesity' published by the World Health Organization. This study was conducted by researchers from Uppsala University, Sweden. I was told that sleep is very dynamic and has many stages. Various types of electrical activities occur in the brain during these stages. The most important stage of sleep is deep sleep (slow sleep). It also controls certain aspects of the secretion of hormones, such as how restful your sleep will be.
Deep sleep also helps in building muscles, bones, and tissues along with their repair and increases immunity. Deep sleep helps in enhancing your mental activities and memory. During the study, researchers found slow wave activity in the deep sleep of participants who ate junk food, while those who ate a healthy diet experienced restful deep sleep. At the same time, those who ate junk food got less deep sleep. This proves that increasing the consumption of junk food has a deep impact on the quality of sleep.
