Acne is a common skin problem seen in both teens and adults. Usually, acne is more on oily skin and this problem mostly occurs in teenage because during this time many hormonal changes are taking place in the body due to which the oil glands become active. How should teen girls take care of their skin when they have acne? But, is this acne preventable? If so what can be done about it?
Team Rujuta told in a video on Instagram that between the age of 8 years to 18 years, pimples appear on the face in teenage. It doesn't leave a mark unless someone picks it up or pinches it. Also, this form of acne is seen on the top layer of the skin, and hence, does not last long.
According to nutritionist, these things should be kept in mind
- 1. Keep your stress levels down: There are many reasons why teens are stressed, but it can help if they reduce their daily screen time to 30 minutes.
- 2. Exercise: The expert said that around this time, the focus on education increases, and children tend to ignore sports and other physical activities. But, this is not a reason to move the body, said the nutritionist, adding that it is important to exercise, and play for 60-90 minutes daily. Teenagers can also try rock climbing, skiing, skating, yoga, and trekking.
- 3. Chit Food (Dos and Don'ts): According to the expert, chips, colas, biscuits, and packaged foods should be totally avoided. In terms of what teenagers should eat, they should consume fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of Vitamin A which is good for the skin.
Other tips
- To get rid of acne, prepare a paste by mixing rose water in a multani mitti and apply it on the face. Wash the face when this pack dries. It reduces oil from the skin and cleanses the skin.
- You should also take care of your diet when you have acne. Eat fresh fruits, salads, sprouts, whole grains, curd, fresh fruit juices, soups, buttermilk, and lassi.
- Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Wake up in the morning and drink a glass of water with lemon juice on an empty stomach. Exercise daily and do breathing exercises to reduce stress.
