There are many such unique temples of Mata across the country, whose history will surprise you. The festival of Navratri is near, so people go to temples at various places to have darshan of the Mother Goddess. Flowers, prasad, red chunari and makeup items are offered to the goddess.

But in today's article, we are going to tell you about a temple where people offer stones to the Mother Goddess Prasad. You might be feeling quite strange after hearing this, but it is true.

Why are stones offered to the Mother Goddess?

This temple is located in Bilaspur city of Chhattisgarh. The temple is known as Vandevi (VandeviMandir). The tradition of offering stones to the Mother Goddess here is said to be centuries old. Local people say that the Goddess likes the Gota stones found in the fields.

Therefore this stone is offered to him instead of Prasad. For centuries, people have been offering this stone found in the fields to the Mother Goddess.

It is believed that whoever offers this stone to the Mother Goddess with true heart, the Goddess fulfils all his wishes. Devotees coming here offer 5 stones to the Mother Goddess and seek her blessings. This practice continues even today.

History of the temple

People living here say that the history of the temple is 100 years old. No one knows where this idol of Mother Goddess came from.

It is believed that earlier there was a forest here but when the village was built, people built a small temple near the statue placed under the tree.

Unique temple

Similarly, there are many such temples across the country, where instead of flowers and garlands, different things are offered to the Mother Goddess as Prasad. For example, in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan, there is a temple of Maa Kali where there is a tradition of offering liquor to the Goddess Prasad.

Not only is this, but the special thing here that only two and a half cups of liquor are offered to the Goddess. If there is even a little less Prasad in this cup then the Mother does not accept it.
