In Sanatan Dharma, the month of Sawan is considered best for worshiping Lord Shiva. Rudrabhishek is performed this month to please Lord Shiva with complete rituals. Rudrabhishek means the consecration of Rudra, that is, the consecration of Shiva. It is written in the scriptures “rum-du:kham, dravayati-nashayatitirudra:” which means that Shiva defeats all sorrows and destroys them. It is believed that if Rudrabhishek is performed to get rid of the inauspicious condition of the planets present in a person's horoscope, then it gives special benefits and fulfills the wishes. According to Hindu religious beliefs, a person can get the blessings of all the gods only by doing the anointing of Rudra Avatar Shiva. Only through Rudrabhishek, the worship of other deities along with Lord Shiva is proven. During Rudrabhishek, people use different types of substances to fulfill their different wishes.
Do Rudrabhishek as per wish
If you want rain, do Shiva Rudrabhishek with water.
If you want to get rid of diseases and sorrows, then anointing should be done with Kusha water.
If there is a desire for a house, vehicle, or animal, then anoint it with curd.
To get Lakshmi and get rid of debt, do Abhishek with sugarcane juice.
To increase wealth, Abhishek by adding honey to the water.
To attain salvation, do Abhishek with the water brought from the pilgrimage.
To destroy the disease, Abhishek by mixing perfume in water.
Abhishek with cow's milk to get son, peace of disease, and fulfillment of wishes.
To cure fever, do Abhishek with Gangajal.
Mix sugar in milk and anoint it for wisdom and enlightenment.
Abhishek should be done with ghee for progeny growth.
Abhishek with mustard oil to destroy the enemy.
If you want to get rid of sins, then do Shiva Rudrabhishek with pure honey.
Rules related to Rudrabhishek
It is considered very auspicious to perform Rudrabhishek of the Shivling located there in the temple of Lord Shiva which is situated on the banks of a river or the banks of a mountain. If this is not possible, then the best thing for Rudrabhishek is to go to a Shiva temple and anoint the Shivling. If Shivling is established in your house, then you can do Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva at home also. If Rudrabhishek is being done with water, then use only copper utensils for it. The use of a copper vessel is considered prohibited for performing Rudrabhishek with milk and curd. Wear clothes of sattvic colors in the worship of Lord Shiva and take care of purity.
