Many things are dear to Lord Shiva. Damru is also one of these things.

It is considered very auspicious to keep Damru in the house during Sawan. This removes the evil forces present in the house.

Keep Damru here at home

  • If Shivling is installed in the house, then keep Damru near Shivling only.
  • Apart from this, a small earthen pot can also be kept in the east direction.
  • Along with this, it is also auspicious to keep Damru near the belpatra plant in the house.
  • If the Shiva idol is installed in the house, then keep Damru and Trishul together.
  • Bring only a small drum into the house. The size of the drum should be equal to the palm.
  • It is considered proper to keep Damru bigger than this in temples or pagodas only.
  • Keep Damru in a copper or earthen vessel only. Don't keep it wrapped in cloth.
  • It is always considered auspicious and best to keep Damru with Trishul.
  • Lord Shiva's trident is formed by combining the qualities of Raj, Tama and Sat.
  • In such a situation, keeping Damru along with Trishul in the house gives relief from many troubles.
  • It is not necessary to keep a big Trishul. Can keep Damru-shaped Trishul.

  • Nothing inauspicious ever happens by praising Lord Shiva with Damru.
  • Playing Damru removes negativity from the house and destroys evil forces.
  • By playing Damru, the people of the house get rid of any kind of disease.

  • Damru produces the sound of miraculous mantras which is good for the mind.
  • A drum must be kept in the children's room. This reduces the fear of their mind.
