Reels Addiction: Earlier I used to spend my journey in the metro reading something or listening to the radio and if ever I found a less crowded metro, I used to do some neck stretching along with arms and legs. After reaching the destination, I used to feel how well I have used this time, but now for a few months, I am spending that time watching reels. I don't even realize how my whole one-and-a-half hour goes by while scrolling. I feel very angry for such misuse of my time, but the addiction to reels has become such that I am not able to get myself out of it. Many other people like me are victims of this addiction. Whether elders or children, now even old people have got addicted to it.
What are reels and shorts?
Short videos of 30 seconds are called shorts. By the way, some videos are also up to 2 minutes. Reels are also a type of short video. The craze for making reels started with the Tiktok app. As soon as Tiktok was banned in India, people started posting all kinds of reels on Facebook and Instagram. Funny, informative, and emotional, the reels are full of all kinds of videos. That's why people are getting addicted to it. From celebrities to common people, these reels are being made, but more craze is being seen among children and youth. The short videos that are uploaded on Facebook and Instagram are called Reels. Wherein YouTube's short videos are called Shorts.
This addiction can become the cause of depression
Due to this addiction, the biggest problem that people are seeing is depression. The person watching the video starts comparing himself with the person present in the video. He also wants to look like him and wants to live life like him and when this does not happen, then he is bound to be angry and irritable. Gradually this tension turns into depression.
Why is there such a passion to see them?

Due to watching reels or shorts till late at night, children sleep late and their sleep pattern gets disturbed. Then the next day in school or college, sleepiness continues throughout the day. Lack of sleep leads to stress, which can sometimes lead to depression along with the problem of increasing BP.
Eyes become weak due to spending more time on the screen. There is no physical activity which can lead to weight gain and obesity.
