You must have consumed sago many times in the form of pakodas or khichdi, but today we have brought you the recipe for making sago barfi. It is delicious and you can easily make it at home, so let us know about its recipe.

Material:

1 cup sago

3 cups milk

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)

1 tbsp almond pieces

1 tbsp cashews, chopped

Recipe:

First of all, clean the cup of sago by placing it on a damp cloth.

Take a pan and fry the sago on low-medium flame while stirring continuously for about 10 minutes until its color changes slightly. When it becomes crisp, take it off the flame and let it cool.

Grind the roasted sago in a mixer until it becomes powder. Take it out in a bowl.

In a saucepan, heat 3 cups full-fat milk over high heat. Boil it and keep stirring it continuously until the milk thickens. Keep stirring to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

When the milk thickens, add 3/4 cup sugar to it. Keep stirring continuously and when the sugar dissolves completely, turn off the flame. Keep it aside.

Heat 1/4 cup ghee in a separate pan.

Mix sago powder in ghee. Fry the mixture on low flame. You will feel a pleasant aroma from the sago.

Add 1 tablespoon chopped almonds and 1 tablespoon cashew nuts to the roasted sago.

When the color of the mixture changes, reduce the flame and add condensed milk to it. Keep stirring the mixture until the ghee separates.

Add 5-6 pieces of ground cardamom in it.

Keep stirring the mixture until the ghee separates completely. The mixture should have the consistency of barfi.

Grease a plate with ghee and pour the mixture into it. Flatten it evenly.

Sprinkle pistachios on top and keep in the freezer for 2 hours.

After the time is over, set the mixture properly with the help of a fork and cut it into desired shapes.

Your Sabudana Barfi is ready to serve.
