Today is the beginning of Shardiya Navratri, which is a special time of worship of Goddess Durga. During this period devotees observe a fast for 9 days. Fasting during Navratri is common and a popular fasting dish is Sabudana Khichdi. This dish is not only rich in fiber but also incredibly delicious. Consuming it keeps you satisfied for a long time. This dish is prepared in many homes during the fast. It is very easy to make Sabudana Khichdi and it is ready in minutes. If you are fasting then Sabudana Khichdi can be a great option.

Material:

1 cup sago

1/2 cup roasted peanuts

1 potato

1 teaspoon cumin

1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

1 lemon

7-8 curry leaves

2 green chillies

1 tablespoon ghee/oil

Rock salt as per taste

Instructions :

-First of all, wash the sago thoroughly and soak it in water for 2-3 hours until it becomes soft and swollen.

During this time, dry roast the peanuts in a pan. Once roasted, remove their peel and grind them to make a coarse powder.

-Heat ghee or oil in a pan on medium flame. Add cumin and let it splutter.

- Add curry leaves and green chilies and fry. Now add chopped potatoes to it and fry until cooked well.

It will take about 2-3 minutes for the potatoes to cook. When they become soft, add soaked sago to it and mix.

Cover the pan and let the sago cook for 4-5 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Now add ground peanut powder, chopped coriander, and rock salt as per taste. Mix everything well.

Squeeze the lemon juice over the top and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Turn off the flame. Your Sabudana Khichdi is ready to serve. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it with curd.
