The winter season has arrived and it brings with it many beneficial things. Among these, beetroot is available in abundance in the market. Usually, people use it as a part of a salad. It is very beneficial for health. While carrot halwa is a common winter dish, have you ever eaten beetroot halwa? If you have not tasted it, then we have brought its recipe for you. So let us know how you can make it.
Material:
Beetroot - 2
Ghee - 3 tbsp
Sugar – ½ cup (as per taste)
Cashews – 10, finely chopped
Almonds – 8, finely chopped
Milk – 300 ml
Raisins – 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 5 crushed pods
Instruction:
First of all, wash and peel the beetroot thoroughly. Grate it finely.
Heat ghee in a pan add finely chopped dry fruits to it and fry until it turns light pink.
Take them out on a dry plate. Keep in mind not to fry the dry fruits too much.
Add 2 tbsp ghee to the same pan. When it becomes hot, add finely grated beetroot to it and fry on low flame for 3-4 minutes.
Add milk and cardamom powder to the pan and stir well. Cover it with a lid and let it cook on low flame for 6 minutes.
Then open the lid and continue cooking on low flame until the beetroot is cooked well and the mixture becomes thick.
Add sugar and mix well. Sprinkle raisins on top and stir.
Keep stirring continuously until the halwa becomes thick and leaves the sides of the pan.
Once the halwa reaches the desired consistency, add chopped dry fruits and crushed cardamom. Mix for 2 minutes and then cover with a lid.
Your beetroot halwa is ready. Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped dry fruits.
