Ingredients:
- two finely chopped tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 10-12 whole black pepper
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- a spoonful of oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- a pinch of asafoetida
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 2 whole dry red chilies
- finely chopped coriander
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 1/2 cups water
- salt to taste
Method :
- First, grind garlic, black pepper, and cumin together finely and keep them separately.
- Now grind the finely chopped tomato in the same jar and make it puree.
- After this, heat oil in a vessel and add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and whole red chilies to it.
- Now after some time put the finely prepared mixture of cumin, garlic, and black pepper in the oil.
- Fry it for a minute and then add tomato puree and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
- After this add salt and red chili powder to the rasam and cook it well.
- Now add finely chopped tomato pieces and cook them well.
- Finally, add water and cook till it comes to a boil.
- Hot Rasam is ready, garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.
