It is said that in Satyuga, a brother was returning from his in-law's house on foot, during which the dacoits forcibly stopped both of them and misbehaved with the woman. During this, the brother and sister prayed to God for protection from the dacoits. At this, the siblings turned into stone statues to escape from the bandits.
