PF accounts of employed people are opened by the government unit Employees Provident Fund Organization Authority i.e. EPFO, after which a fixed amount is deducted from the employee's salary every month and deposited in these accounts and the company also deposits the same amount. What is the UAN number and why is it necessary to activate it?
UAN number is necessary for PF account holders. If you do not have this number then you cannot withdraw money from your PF account. Therefore, it becomes necessary for every account holder to activate this number.
This is the way to activate the UAN number:-
Step 1
If you want to activate your UAN number, then for this you have to go to the official website of EPFO unified portal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
Then here you have to go a little down where you have to look in 'Important Links'
Step 2
Where you will get the option of 'Activate UAN' and click on it
Now as soon as you click on it, a new page will open in front of you
Where first of all you have to fill in your UAN number or one of the member IDs
Now you have to fill in your 12 digit Aadhaar number and also you have to fill in your name and date of birth
Step 3
After this, you have to fill in the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card here
Also, fill in the captcha code given on the screen
Then you have to tick A agree and click on 'Get Authorization Pin'
As soon as you do this, your UAN number will be activated Will be done.
