Ingredients:
¼ cup toor dal, ¼ cup urad dal, ¼ cup moong dal, ¼ cup masoor dal, ¼ cup chana dal, ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp salt, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp ghee, 3 cup water
For Dal:
2 tbsp ghee, 1 bay leaf, 4 cloves, 1 black cardamom, 1 tsp cumin, 1 dried red chili, 1 onion (finely chopped), 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp salt, 2 tomatoes (finely chopped), ¼ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp kasoori methi (crushed), 2 tbsp coriander leaves (finely chopped) Happened)
For Tempering:
1 tsp ghee, 1 tsp cumin, ¼ tsp chili powder, 1 dried red chili
Method :
firstly, in a bowl take ¼ cup arhar dal, ¼ cup urad dal, ¼ cup moong dal, ¼ cup masoor dal and ¼ cup chana dal.
Wash thoroughly and soak in water for 30 minutes.
- In a pressure cooker add dal along with ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp salt, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp ghee, and 3 cups water. Cook the dal till 5 whistles. Take out the pressure and see if the dal is cooked or needs more whistles.
For tempering, heat 2 tbsp ghee in a large pan. Add 4 cloves, 1 black cardamom, 1 tsp cumin, and 1 dry red chili to it.
Fry on low flame.
After this, add 1 onion, and 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and fry till the onions turn golden.
Now it's time to add ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, and ½ tsp salt.
Then add 2 tomatoes and cook till they become soft.
Put the cooked lentils in the pan and cook for another 10 minutes.
Add ¼ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp kasoori methi and 2 tbsp coriander leaves on top. Panchmel Dal is ready to serve.
