Ingredients for making onion curry
Onion (small size) – 5-6
Tomato – 4-5
Green chili - 4-5
Garlic cloves - 3-4
Ginger chopped - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Green coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Kasuri Methi - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Pavbhaji masala - 1 tsp
Rai - 1/2 tsp
Oil – 2-3 tbsp
salt - as per taste
Onion curry recipe
To make a tasty onion curry, first, peel off the top of the onion and cut it a little bit from both sides. After this, with the help of a knife, cut the onion in half from three to four places on the top side. Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, put mustard seeds in it and let it crackle for a few seconds. After this add onion and let it cook for some 5 minutes. During this cover the pan. Keep stirring the onion in between.
Meanwhile, cut the tomatoes into pieces and transfer them to the mixer. After this add pieces of green chili, garlic, and ginger and grind them and prepare the puree. After this, take out the tomato puree in a vessel and keep it aside. When the onions turn light golden and start to look crispy, add the prepared tomato puree to it and mix well.
After this, mix coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, pav bhaji masala, kasoori fenugreek, and salt as per taste in the vegetable. After this, put 3-4 whole green chilies in the vegetable. After this, cover the vegetable and cook for 5-7 minutes.
