Due to changing lifestyles and unhealthy food habits, the amount of bad cholesterol in our body increases due to which there is a risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. In such a situation, it is often advised to use olive oil to reduce fat. The production of olive oil in India is very low, it is mostly imported from Middle East and Mediterranean countries, due to which it is slightly costlier than common cooking oil. In such a situation, adulteration is done indiscriminately to sell this oil at a low price. That's why you should know how to identify a fake before buying it.

How to identify real-fake?
1. Identify the right oil by color
Whenever you buy olive oil from the market, first of all, look at its color, the color of olive oil is light. If it is more yellow, thick, or white then do not buy it at all because it has been adulterated.

2. Look at the Packing
Olive oil is packaged in a very attractive way so that its bread value can be seen better, but keep in mind that 'all that glitters is not gold', so it is necessary to test the right thing. Buy olive oil only if it is found in a glass or plastic dark bowl because if it is kept in transparent packing then the oil can get spoiled.

Which olive oil is beneficial?
There are many types of olive oil available in the market, but if you want to reduce bad cholesterol, then buy only extra light and extra virgin olive oil. It is rich in antioxidants which are beneficial for health. Keep in mind that pomace grade olive oil is also available in the market which is not so healthy.

Take care of this
Never buy Olive Oil in large quantities because every time this oil comes in contact with light and air, its quality starts deteriorating. That's why to buy olive oil only as much as you need because it is not wise to store it for a long time.
