They can invest till the child turns 18 years old. After this, this account continues like a normal NPS account.

That is, the amount deposited in the account remains there. After that, the account works like a regular NPS account. Children can contribute to it themselves and can deposit a good amount of funds for themselves. A good amount of interest is also available in the NPS scheme. Along with this, you can also save tax up to Rs 1.50 lakh under Income Tax Section 80C.

Specialty of the scheme
If anyone wants, he can withdraw the entire investment amount after 18 years in NPS Vatsalya Yojana. Or he can invest in it till 60 years. At the time of retirement, 60% of the deposit amount can be withdrawn. And pension can be obtained from the remaining amount. Please note that a person can open this account only once.
