Google has released its new security feature, Unknown Tracking Alert, for Android devices. With the help of this feature, now no one will be able to track you with the help of an unknown tracking device. This feature will alert users when they are tracked by an unknown Bluetooth-based tracker. The new feature is being rolled out through Google Play Services to Android phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and newer versions of the OS.

Apple AirTag will also prevent spying
Google has announced in a blog post that it is rolling out support for automatic alerts for unknown trackers on Android devices. With this feature, if your smartphone detects a nearby device, which is traveling with you or is present near you, it will alert you. An alert will pop up on your screen, allowing you to see on a map where the tracker has traveled with you. In the new feature, you can also choose the play sound option so that you can easily find the tracker.

The company said that for now, Android phones will be able to recognize the Apple AirTag, but more branded Bluetooth trackers will be added to the feature in the coming months. If you encounter an unknown AirTag, you can turn off location tracking. Simply press down on the back of the AirTag and rotate it in a clockwise direction. Then, remove the cover and battery. By doing this, location sharing can be turned off.

How to use the feature
New Unknown Tracker Alert is on by default. Users can also use the Unknown Tracking Alert feature in automatic mode or perform a manual scan. Go to your phone's settings. From here go to Security & Emergency and then to Unknown Tracker Alerts and tap on the 'Scan now' button. It takes about 10 seconds to scan the surrounding area. After this users can know whether there are any unknown trackers or not.
