At present everyone in Mumbai is waiting for the procession of GudiPadwa. Thousands of people from different places participate in this yatra. This year the theme of the ShobhaYatra is 350 years of the coronation of ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj.
GudiPadwa is considered the beginning of the Hindu New Year. It is also celebrated with different names in different states of India. This festival is celebrated in a special way in Maharashtra. Marathi people celebrate it as New Year. On the day of GudiPadwa, women make beautiful dolls at home and worship them. It is believed that keeping Gudi in the house removes negative energy and brings happiness and prosperity to the house.
Processions are taken out at various places on GudiPadwa. In which women and men travel wearing traditional attire and dancing in the streets. Flowers are showered on people during the journey. In this procession, you can see the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.

ShobhaYatra will be taken out in Girgaum, Mumbai - On GudiPadwa, an enthusiastic procession will start from Ganpati Temple in Sikka Nagar. This journey will end at Thakurdwar after passing through all the routes. Women wearing Nauwarisarees and riding bikes add beauty to this journey. Women riding bikes, children dressed as Hindu deities and youth are seen dancing to the beats of drums. You can also join this journey.
Thane
A mega welcome journey is organized here every year, the pictures of which go viral every year. In this, the roads are decorated with big rangoli and colourful banners.

If you want to join the festival of GudiPadwa, then you can go to Shivaji Park in Dadar. Decorated with colourful banners, lights and flowers, this park becomes the centre of attraction every year. Here also you can join the procession.
Along with Mumbai, the GudiPadwa procession will be taken out in many cities like Thane, Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, and ChhatrapatiSambhajinagar.
