Cybersecurity and online fraud have increased a lot in the last few years. In such a situation, you often hear such incidents in which people become victims of online fraud. Something similar happened with a junior doctor working in a hospital in Delhi. This doctor faced problems with his credit card.

The doctor received a call claiming to increase his credit limit, but instead, Rs 2 lakh was withdrawn from his account. However, the doctor informed the police about the incident and lodged an FIR.

In such a situation, you can complain about such fraud to RBI in some aspects. Here we know about RBI guidelines and complaint process.

RBI is giving instructions
Due to the increase in such incidents, the administration also remains very cautious about it. As we know, the increasing cases of fraud and scams are prompting the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to take necessary action to keep the money of its customers safe.

Also, if you have experienced a similar situation before, keep yourself updated about the guidelines and regulations set by RBI.

RBI also informed that if you are a victim of fraud due to lack of information or banking issues like phone banking, net banking, debit card, credit card, or online payment gateway problems, you can file a complaint.

Additionally, if funds are withdrawn from your account due to a breach by a third party for which neither you nor the Bank is responsible, the lost funds will be refunded.

It was also told in the guideline that if a fraud has happened to you, you will have to inform the bank in writing within 3 days. If you report it within 4 to 7 days, you will still have a chance to get your money back.

How to share information?
Now if you want to share this information then you will have to keep some things in mind. Delhi Police cyber expert Kislay Choudhary has warned that despite RBI guidelines, banks may postpone refunds. In such a situation, the entire process should be understood and necessary action should be taken.

If you are troubled by or face online fraud, lodge a written complaint at your nearest police station on the same day. Although in such a situation it is better to lodge an FIR, if this is not possible, then definitely complain.

Visit your bank to get the police receipt on the day of the fraud or the next day. Prepare a fraud application in the bank and submit it along with the police receipt.

After this, send the soft copy of both documents to RBI's email ID crpc@rbi.org.in, while your bank's email ID should also be included in the CC. You will have to complete this process within 3 days.

Why won't you get the money back?
Cyber expert of Delhi Police said that if the fraud is reported to the bank, police, or both after 7 days, then your money will not be returned.
Moreover, money lost in Bitcoin, online currency, online games, or betting is usually not recovered.
