To increase livelihood security in the rural areas of the country, the Government of India brought the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act a few years ago. Under NREGA, poor laborers living in rural areas do work like irrigation, road construction, dam construction, pond construction, digging wells, etc. In return, they are paid their wages. For your information, let us tell you that the wages were paid till now under MNREGA. This will now be done through the Aadhaar-based payment system. Attacking this decision, Congress said that the government had made a very bad decision for the poor laborers on the occasion of New Year.

Apart from this, the Ministry of Rural Development has also given information about whether some Gram Panchayats have to face technology-related problems. In this situation, the government may consider exempting them.
Congress attacked the decision, saying the government was weaponizing Aadhaar to deny benefits of social welfare schemes to poor and vulnerable sections of society.

MNREGA is counted among the largest guarantee programs in the world. Under this scheme, the government wants to reduce poverty and unemployment rates in rural areas.
Apart from this, the government is working on the development of rural infrastructure under the MNREGA program. Under this program, women living in marginal areas are also being empowered.
