This is the recipe
Wash masoor dal 3-4 times and soak it in water with a utensil. Let it soak for about an hour. Drain the water and add the masoor dal in a blender. Add garlic buds, ginger, green chillies and a little water. Blend well to make a thick and smooth dal paste.
Now cut the onion into thin and long slices. Take out the dal paste in a bowl. Add salt, black pepper powder, cumin powder, and chopped coriander and mix well. Also, add chopped onions.
Heat mustard oil in a nonstick pan. Now take out the dal mixture with a spoon and put it in the pan. Press it gently, but don't flatten it too much. The vada should still retain its round shape. Fry all the vadas till they become light golden brown and crispy from both sides.
