Masoor Dal Recipe
Ingredients
Lentils - 1 bowl
Green chilli - 2
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf - 1
Dry red chilli - 2
Panch phoron masala - 1 tsp
Green coriander - 1 tbsp
Mustard oil - 1 tbsp
salt - as per taste

How to make masoor dal
To make Masoor Dal, first, wash the lentils and soak them in water for half an hour.
After half an hour, put the lentils in the cooker and put turmeric powder, green chillies and 2 cups of water in it and close the lid of the cooker.
Cook the dal till two whistles of the cooker come. After two whistles, turn off the gas and release the pressure of the cooker.
After releasing the pressure, open the lid of the cooker and with the help of a spoon, mash the cooked dal inside the cooker.
Now put bay leaves, red chilli and panch phoron masala in a pan and prepare the bahar on medium flame. When the things of Baghar are fried well, then put lentils in it. After adding lentils, add half a cup of water. After adding half a cup of water, add salt as per your taste and then with the help of a spoon keep stirring the dal in the pan. When the dal starts boiling, then understand that your dal is ready. Garnish the dal with green coriander. You can serve Bengali-style Masoor dal with paratha, roti or rice.
