Instant loan apps without KYC and document verification are taking people's breath away one after the other. Recently, a family committed mass suicide in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, troubled by debt. The young couple fed their two innocent children cold drinks mixed with sulfates. After this, both of them swung on the same noose. Such apps first promise to give loans without any conditions, and as soon as someone falls into their trap, they charge many times more money by charging huge interest.
People are such victims
Most of the needy people fall into the trap of such loan apps. These apps promise to give loans without any paperwork and KYC, so people easily trust them. Along with this, in the name of an easy and fast process, while giving loans, this app takes the approval of the users from their mobile to contact details, messages, and galleries without their knowledge. This is where the real game begins. Loan apps use the contact details and gallery of the users to blackmail them later and the victims are left with no other option but to repay the loan twice or four times.
Fraud happening on the pretext of a loan
Fraud is being done in the name of giving loans to the needy. First people are lured with cheap loans and then the money is recovered. Many times people are charged several times the amount. Threats are made to make the photo viral and defame friends and relatives if the money is not paid. The same happened in the Bhupendra Vishwakarma suicide case in Madhya Pradesh. A four-page suicide note was found near the deceased, in which he mentioned being troubled by loans taken online and blackmailing recovery people.
For not depositing the loan installment on time, Bhupendra was defamed along with blackmailing by taking out the photo in his DP on social media and making it obscene. Where Bhupendra used to work, his boss, relatives, and other relatives also started sending details. In such a situation, this case seems to be less of a loan and more of a scam and cyber fraud. SIT will now investigate this matter.
Many people lost their lives
This is not the first case of death due to the recovery of the loan app, even before this loan app killed many people. Last year in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district, the entire family committed suicide due to the blackmailing of a loan app. Two innocent children including husband and wife were also included in the dead. A bank employee from Bangalore had also committed suicide after being troubled by the blackmail of these loan apps. Dozens of people have lost their lives by getting trapped in the trap of these app companies.
