The great festival of Chhath Puja is starting in Bihar on 17th November. Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya are worshiped in this festival which lasts for four days. Lakhs of people in the country and abroad celebrate this festival with great devotion.

Coconut

Offering sugarcane in this puja also has special significance. According to beliefs, offering this fruit on Chhath Maiyya provides happiness and prosperity.

Offering betel nuts has special significance in Chhath Puja. Betel nut is considered a symbol of happiness, prosperity, good fortune, and wealth in Hindu religion. By offering betel nuts during Chhath Puja, one gets the blessings of Lord Surya and Chhathi Mata.

water chestnuts

Water chestnuts are also offered to the Mother Goddess in this puja. At this time, water chestnuts are found in abundance, and offering them to the Mother Goddess brings happiness to the family.
