Can Leech Therapy reduce hair fall?

Leech therapy or Jalaukavacharan, this therapy has been used in treatment in India since ancient times and with the help of this therapy, hair growth is beneficial. There is mention of 18 types of leeches in expert Ayurveda, out of which most of the leeches are poisonous and 3 to 4 types of leeches are non-poisonous due to which leech therapy is done. This is known as the Raktamokshan method. In Ayurveda, this method is used to remove impurities present in the blood.

How is leech therapy done?

By doing this therapy, impurities present in the blood are removed and blood circulation increases. This is considered to be a very effective treatment in removing hair loss and baldness. In this, leeches are placed on the part of the head where there is less hair. Leech sucks the dirty blood from that part of the head and pure blood starts circulating there. It opens up the blood vessels and encourages them to provide more oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. Due to this, new hair starts growing at that place. It is also beneficial in the problem of dandruff.
