Korean-style Maggi noodles, also known as "ramyeon," are a popular and delicious fusion dish that combines the convenience of instant noodles with the flavors of Korean cuisine. Here's a simple recipe for making Korean-style Maggi noodles:

Ingredients:

1 packet of Maggi noodles (or any instant ramen noodles)

2 cups water

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 small onion, thinly sliced

2-3 cloves of garlic, minced

1 small carrot, julienned

1/2 cup sliced cabbage

2-3 mushrooms, sliced

2 cups water

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) or more to taste

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)

Optional toppings: fried egg, sliced cooked meat (chicken, beef, or pork), seaweed flakes

Instructions:

Boil the Noodles:

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot.

Add the Maggi noodles and cook according to the package instructions until they are slightly undercooked (about 2-3 minutes). Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Flavor Base:

In a large skillet or pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

Add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent.

Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.

Add Vegetables:

Add the julienned carrot, sliced cabbage, and mushrooms to the skillet.

Sauté the vegetables until they are slightly tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Make the Broth:

Pour 2 cups of water into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables.

Add the soy sauce, gochugaru, sesame oil, and sugar (if using). Adjust the amount of gochugaru based on your spice preference.

Combine Noodles and Broth:

Add the slightly undercooked Maggi noodles to the skillet with the broth and vegetables.

Stir everything together and let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the noodles to finish cooking.

Serve:

Once the noodles are fully cooked and coated in the flavorful broth, remove the skillet from the heat.

Divide the noodles and broth into serving bowls.

Garnish with chopped green onions and any optional toppings you prefer, such as a fried egg, sliced cooked meat, or seaweed flakes.
