Nowadays, it is often seen that due to lack of time, people bring a week's worth of fruits and vegetables at once. All these are brought together and kept in the fridge. People believe that vegetables remain fresh for a longer time in the refrigerator and are protected from rotting. By doing this people's problems become easier. But, do you know that there are some fruits and vegetables which start rotting quickly if kept together?

Different types of enzymes and chemicals are found in many fruits and vegetables. This is the reason why, if these vegetables and fruits are kept together, they start rotting quickly. In such a situation, everyone needs to know which types of vegetables and fruits should be kept separately.

Do not keep broccoli with these fruits
If we talk about broccoli, it is ethylene-sensitive. If you keep it with fruits like apples, figs, and grapes, its life gets reduced by 50 percent. By keeping it in the fridge like this, broccoli remains fresh for only two or three days.

Keep leafy vegetables away from these fruits
Leafy vegetables are available in abundance in this season. If you keep them with fruits containing ethylene like watermelon, grapes, and apples, then they will start rotting quickly.
