If dialysis patients do light exercise daily, they remain very healthy physically. The research team of the German Technical University of Munich believes that if dialysis patients do light exercise every day, their fitness will be tremendous. People suffering from kidney failure need to go to the hospital for dialysis several times a week. Along with this, they also suffer from diabetes and heart disease.

The extent of the disease and the length of time on dialysis often means those affected are getting less physical activity, the research says. The research involved nearly 1,000 patients from 21 dialysis centers in Germany. The full 12-month study included patients who exercised at least three times a week while on dialysis. Only patients under medical supervision were also included.
