Krishna based on Smart ISKCON does not follow the date of birth. According to the Ashtami date and Rohini Nakshatra in Vaishnava culture, the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated. Whereas, Smarta celebrates the festival on the basis of Saptami Tithi. According to Vaishnava followers, the festival of Krishna Janmashtami falls on the Navami and Ashtami dates of the Hindu calendar. According to the Hindu calendar, Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. The birth anniversary of Shri Krishna is celebrated late at night because according to religious beliefs, Lord Krishna was born late at night.

Auspicious time for Janmashtami 2023 puja
The auspicious time to worship Lord Krishna is from 12:02 midnight to 12:48 midnight on 6th September. In this way, the duration of puja will be only 46 minutes. On the other hand, the time of Janmashtami fasting is after 06:09 in the morning of September 7, 2023.
