This year's Krishna Janmashtami is going to be very special because many wonderful yogas are being formed simultaneously. According to the Puranas, Lord Krishna was born in Rohini at 12 midnight on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada. On the first day of Janmashtami, householders celebrate while on the second day, Vaishnavs i.e. sages, saints, and Mahatmas celebrate. After decorating Lord Krishna on Janmashtami, it is considered auspicious to offer Makhan, Mishri, and other food items by applying Tilak of Ashtagandha, sandalwood, Akshat and Roli.
