It is often believed that the few days after periods are safe and during this period, there are no chances of pregnancy by having physical relations without protection. Which days are safe to have physical relations after periods?

It is quite complicated to determine for how many days after periods there are no chances of getting pregnant by having physical relations. The period cycle is different for every woman and hence it is not medically possible to prescribe a time frame. Typically, a woman's fertile window is in the middle of her menstrual cycle, when ovulation occurs.

If you get your periods every 28 days, this is usually around day 14, but this can still vary. To reduce the risk of pregnancy without contraception, it is recommended to wait a few days after your periods end. This is because sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to 5 days. However, this method cannot be completely relied upon as the period cycle may also be irregular.
