You can reset your IRCTC password in two ways - through email and a registered mobile number. First of all, go to the official IRCTC website and click on the Forgot Password link. You will be asked to enter your username. Enter it and proceed to the next step.
You will be redirected to a page where you have to answer a security question. Here the same question will be asked which you had set while creating the account. On answering the security question correctly, you will receive an email from IRCTC. This email will contain instructions to reset the password.
