Instagram is taking care of its users. It is developing a Close Friends feature in the main feed, allowing users to share Reels and photos exclusively with people close to them. This feature is for small groups and Meta-CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself has shared about this new update.

Instagram announced the Close Friends feature a few years ago and has done almost nothing related to it since then. Many people use this feature to share their daily activities with their loved ones. While sharing daily updates is important, general posting of videos and photos with close people may also be necessary.

That said, it is also competing with similar-purpose apps like the BeReal app. It's worth noting that other popular contenders like Twitter (currently X) also had a feature called Circles. However, he discontinued it some time ago. X obviously has some other different goal.

Coming back to the Insta feature, users can now use this feature on the stable version of the app. It is coming to both Android and iOS devices. But if this feature does not appear in your app, wait for it to arrive. Check for updates and you should have it.

As far as using it is concerned, it is quite simple. To use the Close Friends feature on the main feed, follow the steps below. So let us know.

How to share posts and reels with close friends

Step 1: After updating the app to the latest version, open it and tap on the plus (+) button at the bottom.

Step 2: Now, create your post. It can be a photo or reel. Then, tap Next.

Step 3: On the Last Share page, you should see a tab that says "Audiences." Tap on it and you will get two options, Everyone and Close Friends. Tap the circle next to Close Friends to select it.
