Influenza (Influenza) virus, which is called viral flu in common language. It is an infectious disease, which can spread from one person to another. Influenza virus can enter the body in several ways. However, there is no direct link between monsoon and flu. But during this time there are many such situations, due to which the cases of flu can increase. Why do cases of Influenza virus increase more in the rains? We talked to Dr Saurabh Bali about what are its symptoms and how it can be avoided. Dr. Saurabh, BHMS, DNHE, is Homeopathy Physician and Lifestyle Expert.

Why does the Influenza virus spread more in the rain?

  • There is more moisture in the atmosphere during monsoon. Because of this, the virus gets a favourable environment to flourish and spread.
  • When it rains, people often gather under shelters to avoid it, this leads to crowding and the virus can spread quickly.

  • Schools open in the time of July-August. Children are more susceptible to the virus and therefore catch infection more easily and have more cases of flu.
  • There is also humidity in the atmosphere during monsoon, due to which the life of the virus increases and it can remain alive on any surface for a long time.
