Dr. Archana Dhawan Bajaj, a gynecologist and IVF specialist at New Delhi's Northern IVF Clinic, says that vitamin D is a rising factor affecting fertility to a great extent. Studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency often reduces the rate of conception in women who are getting IVF. The level of vitamin D in sufficient amounts helps in better quality of eggs and successful transfer of fetus, while it is much better than women with vitamin D deficiency. Not only this, ovaries have also been found to be low in vitamin D-deficient women.

Dr. Archana said that women who had low vitamin D levels had more difficulty in getting pregnant in general. Apart from this, the process of conceiving through IVF can also be complicated in women with vitamin D deficiency women. According to research, women with appropriate vitamin D levels were used to use supporting reproductive techniques (ART), more than women with normal vitamin D, with higher rate of living births, pregnancies simple, and more positive results of pregnancy tests.

Other problems
If you are already pregnant and your vitamin D level is not in the normal range, then you may also face some problems. During pregnancy, women with vitamin D levels were found to be higher in pre-eclampsia, pregnancy diabetes, and high blood pressure than women with normal vitamin D. Another research suggests that pregnant women with insufficient vitamin D are more at risk of premature delivery and pregnancy.

Vitamin D and Male Fertility
Studies have also shown that high levels of vitamin D in men have been linked to the quality and mobility of sperm. Studies have indicated that men who consume more vitamin D may increase the amount of calcium in their sperm. This increased calcium level increases the dynamics of sperm. In addition, studies have also shown that the dynamics of sperm and dynamic sperm may be affected by vitamin D deficiency in men.
