Indian Railways is operating thousands of trains across the country. Every day crores of passengers travel in these trains. Keeping in view the convenience of the passengers, Indian Railways has built railway stations at every major place in the country so that passengers can easily get a train to reach their destination station. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that Indian Railways has an important contribution in the connectivity of the country. However, even after this, there is a lot of crowd in Indian trains. At the same time, the crowd in the general coach of Indian trains is even more. In such a situation, many times the question of the passengers is whether the TTE can give a seat to the passengers traveling in the general class if there is space in the train? What are the rules of the railways regarding this? Today we are going to tell you about this -
According to the rules of Indian Railways, you can travel in the same class in which you have booked your ticket. If your ticket is in sleeper class, then you can travel in sleeper class. If your ticket is in AC class, then you can travel in it.
However, many times many seats remain vacant in the reserved coach of the train. According to the rules of Indian Railways, if the TTE wants, he can allot the vacant seat in the reserved coach to the passengers traveling in general class.
However, for this, the TTE will charge the difference in the fare of the coaches to which you are shifting from the general coach.
If you are traveling in general class and want to shift from general coach to sleeper or AC coach, then for this you will have to meet the TTE and tell him about this. If a seat is vacant in the upper class, then the TTE will allot you a seat.
