Clean air in the workplace and at home is of great importance. Clean air not only plays an important role in keeping your health good but it also increases your productivity in the workplace. In such a situation, poor indoor air quality and its negative impact on a person's respiratory and mental health cannot be ignored.
Given this, many important points were highlighted on the topic "Impact of clean air in home and workplace on health and productivity of a person" at the Indian Clean Air Summit 2024 organized by CSTEP in Bengaluru. In the program, Guruprakash Shastri (Associate Vice President and Head of Climate Action, Infosys) emphasized a clear business approach to improve indoor air quality.
During this, he said that clean air present in the home and workplace is not only good for health but also has business benefits. For this reason, ensuring the good health of employees is very important for them, so that employee productivity and good business can be ensured.
In addition, Raunak Sutaria (Founder and CEO of Living Science Pvt. Ltd.) emphasized the importance of reducing PM2.5 in workplaces. During this, he said, "If someone just puts up a board saying 'PM2.5 is zero', then I will spend more time in that office building." He said this while describing a unique incident where air quality sensors in a building were not showing the presence of PM2.5.
Talking about this, he further said that the most important thing to improve the air quality inside a building is to know what is the weather and air quality outside. The air quality inside the building is affected by the weather outside and the pollution level.
Knowing things like temperature, carbon dioxide (CO2) levels and pollution levels in different months can help us make better decisions to save energy and keep the air clean. Speaking on the occasion, he also said that analyzing real-time data and integrating it with actions will help us monitor energy consumption and air quality.
