Urad dal – 1/2 cup
Rice – 1 cup
Thick Poha – 3 tbsp
Fenugreek seeds – 1 tablespoon

Method to make Idli
To make delicious and very soft idli, first, clean the urad dal and fenugreek seeds, then take a deep-bottomed bowl and put both the ingredients in it, add enough water, and keep it soaked for 4-5 hours. . After this, take another bowl and add cleaned rice and thick poha in it, add water as per requirement, mix, and keep it soaked for 4 to 5 hours.
After the stipulated time, remove the urad dal and fenugreek seeds from the water and wash them once more. After this, shift them in the mixer add 1 cup of water, and grind until a soft and smooth paste is prepared. After this, take out the prepared paste in a deep-bottomed vessel and keep it aside. Similarly, wash rice and poha and put them in the mixer add one and a half cups water to it and grind it well to make a paste.

Put the rice-poha paste in the vessel with urad dal-fenugreek seeds paste and mix well. After this, cover this solution and keep it in a warm place overnight. In this time the yeast will rise properly in the solution. The next day, when good yeast appears in the solution, beat it once again. After this, take an idli pot and grease it with oil.

After this, pour the prepared batter into the idli mold and then steam the idli in the idli steamer for about 15 minutes. After this take out the idli from the mold. Very soft idli is ready. Similarly, make idli from the entire batter. Serve tasty idli with sambar and coconut chutney for breakfast. The more thoroughly the rice and urad dal is soaked and softened, the softer the idli will be.
