Ingredients required to make a cake
1 cup idli/dosa batter, 3/4 cup jaggery, 2 tbsp rava/semolina, 1/2 cup grated coconut, 1 tsp ghee + little more for greasing, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder and 1/4 tsp soda .
How to make
Step 1-
Place a metal stand in a deep vessel, cover it with a lid and heat it for 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can also use a pressure cooker without the gasket and whistle.
Step 2-
Mix the idli batter and jaggery well in a bowl. If it is taking more time, you can mix both.
Step 3-
Add semolina, grated coconut, ghee and cardamom powder and mix well, add baking soda at the end.
Step 4-
Grease a pan with ghee and spread baking paper in it.
Step 5-
Pour the batter into a greased pan and place it in a preheated utensil. Keep the lid covered and seal any holes if any.
Step 6-
Bake the cake on low flame for about 30 minutes. Keep a close watch after 20-25 minutes to avoid burning.
Step 7-
Bake it till the cake is cooked, which can be checked by inserting a toothpick. If it comes out clean it means your cake is done.
