The threat of new variants of Corona is seen increasing rapidly globally. Recently, two new variants Eris and BA.2.68 have alerted the scientists. Scientists say that the infectivity rate of these variants is seen to be very high, due to which the danger may also be in those who have been vaccinated or have immunity in their body after an earlier infection. Due to the additional mutations observed in the new variants, it is believed to easily evade immunity.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) conducted a study to find out what kind of health risks corona could pose. The ongoing report of the research said that people over the age of 40 who were victims of infection, who were victims of comorbidity, or who had moderate to severe symptoms, such people had a higher mortality rate within a year of recovery from infection.

For example, corona infection has been found to develop such problems in the body, which can further increase the risk of serious complications, even death.

Mortality of patients after discharge from hospital
The study, titled 'Post-discharge mortality among hospitalized COVID-19 patients', found that participants who had received a single dose of the vaccine before COVID-19 infection had a lower risk of post-discharge mortality. seen.

The study noted that the analysis presented only included patients who were hospitalized due to COVID-19. The researchers found that the corona can be an enhancer of many types of health risks, due to which the risk of serious illness and even death can be significantly increased.

Risk of new variants
In the study conducted on the new variants of the corona, researchers said that its infectivity rate is being seen as very high, due to which the number of patients in hospitals and infections is increasing rapidly worldwide. According to a recent report, for the fourth consecutive week, cases of infected people admitted to the hospital due to corona have increased, such figures are considered to be worrying.

The team of scientists says that with the pace at which the cases of corona are being reported on the rise in many countries, there is a need for continuous efforts by all to prevent infection.

Prime Minister's secretary held a meeting
Given the new emerging variant of COVID-19 across the world, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister PK Mishra chaired a high-level meeting to review the current COVID situation in the country and its preparedness. In this, all States/UTs have been instructed to monitor the Influenza-like diseases Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI) and promote COVID-19 testing and genome sequencing.

The situation of Covid is under control in India
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), EG.5 (Aris) has been reported in more than 50 countries, while the variant BA.2.86 (Pirola) is in four countries. The situation in India is currently looking very much under control, with the daily average of new COVID-19 cases across the country remaining below 50 and the weekly test positivity rate below 0.2%.

Health experts have advised all people to keep taking measures to prevent corona.
