It is the responsibility of parents to inculcate good hygiene habits in their children because these are related to both their health and lifestyle. As children grow older, they start insisting on bathing on their own. When you bathe them, you take full care of their cleanliness. But they cannot bathe properly on their own at this age, due to which they can be at risk of many diseases. Similarly, the immunity of children is much weaker than ours and in such a situation, even a little carelessness towards health can make them sick. Therefore, it would be better that you take special care of children's hygiene and teach them body hygiene habits from a young age.

Cleaning hands
Hand hygiene is very important to stay healthy. There are many types of bacteria and viruses on our hands. These bacteria and viruses enter our bodies most easily through our hands. Therefore, teach children to keep their hands clean from an early age. Make it a habit for them to clean their hands thoroughly before and after eating. They should clean their hands thoroughly with soap after playing, touching animals, meeting patients, and coming home from outside.

Attention to teeth
After children's teeth appear, you should teach them to clean them properly. Apart from this, rinse your mouth after eating anything, brush your teeth before sleeping, and avoid taking any such thing in your mouth. The habit of keeping teeth clean will protect them from cavities. Also, inculcate the habit of drinking as much water as possible in children. This will prevent foul smell from their mouth and they will also remain hydrated throughout the day.

In the washroom
The toilet is also one of the places from where most diseases spread. Therefore, you should teach children to use the toilet cleanly from a young age, so that they do not suffer from any disease. You tell them how to use the toilet without making it dirty, as well as how to clean themselves after going to the toilet and how to wash their hands properly.

Keep biting nails
After a certain age, children start shying away from you while bathing. Therefore, inculcate in them the habit of bathing daily and during this, teach them about body cleanliness, such as how to clean hands, feet, hair, and other body parts. Keep children's nails cut from time to time and inculcate in them the habit of keeping their nails short. With this habit, dirt or bacteria will not accumulate in their nails while playing or eating. Adolescent girls need special attention. Be sure to tell them about the use and cleaning of sanitary napkins.

For at least 20 seconds
Dr. Nausheen Siddiqui, Senior Resident, Department of Pediatrics, Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, Delhi, says, that for personal hygiene, you should take special care of the cleanliness of children. Our skin works to protect us from germs, for which we must take a bath 2-3 times a week. After cleaning the ears with water, they should be wiped with a dry towel. Hands should be washed continuously with soap for at least 20 seconds. To avoid body odor, use clean clothes, socks and undergarments. After defecation, you should pay special attention to your cleanliness, so that infection does not occur. Cut nails after bathing once a week. The nails of the hands should be rounded and the nails of the feet should be cut straight so that there is no problem of ingrown nails.
