Mosquitoes are more attracted towards human blood and hence bite us. Even if nothing happens immediately due to their bite, then it starts itching and there are rashes on the skin.

Mosquitoes carry many diseases with them and you can also get those diseases when bitten. Now the rashes and pimples on the skin due to mosquito bites look very dirty. Many creams and ointments also do not give you relief. If you want to get instant relief, you can try some home remedies. It will also give you relief from mosquito bites and also help in reducing rashes.

Apply lemon balm

Lemon balm looks very similar to peppermint. It is a herb that has been used for centuries for skin problems. An older study from the National Center for Biotechnology Information of the National Institutes of Health suggests that lemon balm extract can soothe itching.

Cut its leaves and apply on mosquito bites or apply lemon balm cream. Reducing the burning sensation will also work to heal the wound.

Basil leaves

Tulsi leaves can also help in reducing the burning sensation on the skin. The antioxidants present in it reduce itching, burning and redness. For this, put 1 cup of basil leaves in 1 cup of water and heat it. When it becomes half, turn off the gas and cool this water. Dip a cotton in it and apply it on the rash. This can stop itching immediately.

Peppermint oil

Peppermint oil is also one such remedy, which can reduce your itching. This is due to its cooling property. It is not applied directly on the skin. Mix 2 drops of peppermint oil with 1 teaspoon of lukewarm coconut oil or aloe vera gel. Mix it well and then apply it to the affected area. This can help in reducing the burning and itching immediately.

Cloves of garlic

Everyone knows how beneficial garlic is for health. Garlic is recommended for health conditions ranging from heart disease to high blood pressure. Along with this, it also provides relief from itching and burning. However, applying it directly on the skin can aggravate your burn or wound, so first finely chop it and mix it with coconut oil, aloe vera gel or any lotion. After this, apply it to the affected area for 10 minutes, and wipe it with a tissue.

Cold compress

Ice can reduce swelling and irritation. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, applying ice to relieve the itching caused by mosquito bites is very soothing. You wrap ice cubes in a cloth and apply it to the affected area. Do not apply ice directly to the skin, it may worsen. It can be applied 4-5 times a day every 5-10 minutes to get relief from irritation.

Chamomile tea

Chamomile tea is used to relieve stress and anxiety. The oils found in it help in reducing itching, rashes and irritation. For this, put the leaves of its flower in half a cup of water and keep it in the fridge for 30 minutes. After this, dip the cotton in it and apply it to the affected area. You can also cool its tea bag and keep it on the bites for a few minutes. This will also give you quick relief.

Apart from this, you can also try neem leaves, coconut oil etc. Keep your house clean and close the windows and doors in the evening.
