Even a heart attack can prove dangerous for a person, but just imagine what will happen to a person if he suffers a heart attack several times in his life. One such incident occurred in Mumbai where a 51-year-old woman living in the Mulund area suffered a heart attack 5 times in the last 16 months. According to the news of Times of India, he was given 5 stents. Angioplasty was done 6 times and bypass surgery was done once.

Had a heart attack on a moving train
Rekha (name changed) visited the catheterization lab on December 1 and 2. She said, "I just wanted to know what was the problem with me, whether after 3 months there was a new blockage in my heart." He suffered his first heart attack in September 2022 while returning from Jaipur to Borivali on a train, after which the railway authorities took him to a public hospital in Ahmedabad.

Rekha told the Times of India, 'We thought it right to get the angioplasty done in Mumbai.' According to cardiologist, Dr. Hasmukh Rawat, 'What triggered Rekha's heart problem is still a mystery to us.' Many doctors and experts believe that an auto-immune disease like vasculitis, which causes inflammation and narrowing of the blood vessels, could be the cause, but test results have not shown anything yet. Every few months, Rekha's heart attack symptoms return, such as severe chest pain, belching, and restlessness.

Rekha said that she had heart attack in February, May, July, and November this year also, Rekha has other chronic diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity. His weight in September 2022 was 107 kg, and since then he has lost more than 30 kg. He has been given injections of 'PCSK9 inhibitor', a relatively new cholesterol-lowering drug which has kept his levels down, and his sugar is also under control, but the heart attacks continue.

This is a rare case
Dr. Hasmukh Rawat said that it is common for a heart patient to have a blockage in one place, but Rekha has developed a blockage in different places. He said, 'Rekha's first attack was due to 90 percent blockage, which was seen in the left anterior descending artery. Next time, 99 percent blockage came in the right coronary artery.

Rekha once developed a complex lesion at the trifurcation of the main arteries. Since there had been several punctures in his femoral artery by then, Dr. Rawat had to solve this difficult task through his hand (left radial artery). Rekha said, 'Doctors have started giving me steroids and a new set of medicines which will hopefully help.'

This woman was lucky
Medically speaking, Rekha has been lucky because her heart attacks have been NSTEMI or non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction, which occurs when the heart's oxygen needs are not met. Dr. Rawat said, 'STEMI heart attacks are comparatively dangerous. Despite a total of 8 procedures, his heart's ejection fraction is 45% which is good.'
