What are acidity and constipation?
Acidity or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid repeatedly backs up into the esophagus. This can damage the lining of your esophagus. Whereas, constipation occurs when we do not consume enough water. Bad eating habits and fried-roasted food spoil our digestive system during fasting or fasting during Navratri.

1. Stay away from citrus fruits
Consuming oranges, grapefruits, and lemons on an empty stomach can lead to acidity. Instead of these, it is better to eat fruits like bananas, chiku, and melon, which calm the intestine.

2. Keep the body hydrated
During fasting, we must keep the body hydrated. Drink lukewarm or hot water instead of cold water. Also, instead of drinking a lot of water at once, consume water slowly. Drinking a lot of water at once also leads to the problem of bloating and acidity.

Must include drinks like buttermilk and cold milk during fasting. It will keep your stomach cool as well as calm. Along with this, drinking coconut water also keeps the pH level of the body balanced and toxins are removed from the body.

4. These fruits are good during fasting
Do eat fruits like bananas and melons. Kolo has high levels of potassium, which is known to protect against acidity. It also contains fiber, which is beneficial in fasting. Along with this, it also maintains the pH level of the body. Similarly, cantaloupe also fights against acidity.

5. Workout
If you do workouts along with fasting, it gives energy to your body, keeps your digestion right, and also maintains blood flow to the stomach.
