Many of us have been focusing on eating less salt and in some cases have completely neglected it as salt is considered bad for our health. Well, all this is not true; after all, salt is an important electrolyte that helps our body to function normally. If you have decided to avoid salt, make sure that you do not cut it out completely and try to understand how the body will react to this new change.

Many diets recommend avoiding salt and that's why we want to share with you the effects of low sodium and show you why there are some diets that you should consult with your doctors about first.

What changes can be seen in our bodies by giving up salt? We spoke to dietician Simran Saini about this. Then he told us about it in detail. MsSimran Saini says, 'If you stop eating salt for 2 weeks then you experience some significant changes but sometimes it can harm you too. If you have high blood pressure then your blood pressure is more stable but it can be dangerous for people who experience low blood pressure. Some people may also feel very dizzy and nausea may also occur.

Thus we talk about reducing the intake of white refined salt. But to make sure you don't have any negative effects, continue consuming sodium-rich food.

Kidney functions better

Your kidney function will usually get better and you may feel lighter overall. It's not just your blood pressure that is directly affected by the amount of sodium you eat. Salt can cause serious damage to other organs in your body. Kidneys are also affected by high amounts of sodium. There is a direct correlation between kidney failure and salt intake.

In addition, high blood pressure damages multiple organs and the kidneys are often the first to fail. Fortunately, once again, if you cut back on salt, you can save your kidneys, according to the National Kidney Foundation.

Reduces the chances of bloating and water retention

Do you experience bloating or water retention during periods or after meals? And are you one of those people who sometimes have to take off their rings because your body is retaining too much fluid? So let us tell you that salt may have something to do with it.

Since sodium is one of the causes of water retention, by reducing your salt intake, you will lose more water from your body. You'll feel less bloated and swollen. This is an easy way to reduce bloating.

Weight is less

Your extra weight also starts reducing to some extent. If you stop eating salt, you will see that you have lost a few kilos immediately. Chances are this water weight is being lost, at least initially, because salt causes the body to retain water.

But, when you reduce your sodium intake, it's not just water weight that you lose. If you start incorporating more whole, unprocessed food into your diet, it helps to naturally reduce sodium intake. Plus, it can help reduce your intake of added sugars and refined carbohydrates while increasing fibre. This change may promote a reduction in calories with an increased feeling of fullness, which may lead to weight loss.

Headache is less

If you suffer from frequent headaches, then reducing the intake of salt to very little can reduce the problem. Do you find yourself prone to frequent headaches? Do you keep a bottle of ibuprofen in your purse? If so, you may be surprised to learn that salt may be a culprit. Sodium has a direct effect on your blood vessels which can trigger a headache.
