Fight against cervical cancer
There is a lot of hope in providing cervical cancer treatment in India at affordable prices. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made a big announcement regarding this in the interim budget 2024. He said, 'The government will emphasize on vaccination of girls aged 9-14 years against cervical cancer.'

The Health Ministry had in June last year stressed its intention to include the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer in the National Immunization Program for girls aged 9 to 14, for which a global tender will be issued in April 2024. are supposed to.

Vaccine comes from abroad
At present, India is completely dependent on foreign producers for the human papillomavirus vaccine. Globally, 3 foreign firms produce HPV vaccines, out of which 2 types of vaccine dosages are sold in India. It's approximately Rs 4000.

How many deaths are due to cervical cancer?
16 percent of the world's women live in India, but one-fourth of the world's cervical cancer patients are here, in one-third of global cervical cancer deaths occur in India only. According to government figures, every year 80 thousand women in our country suffer from this disease, out of which 35 thousand women lose their lives.

What was announced for healthcare sectors in the budget?
1. It has been announced to open many new hospitals and medical colleges in the country so that people can get better services, all kinds of facilities will be provided in these hospitals.
2. The new U-WIN platform designed for the management of vaccination and the efforts of Mission Indradhanun will be launched rapidly across the country.
3. Regarding the Central Government's important scheme 'Ayushman Bharat', it was said that under this scheme, all Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, and assistants will also be included in health care and protection.
4. To coordinate the implementation of various schemes for mothers and child care, they will be brought under a comprehensive program. The upgradation of Anganwadis will be accelerated under 'Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0' to provide better nutrition and early child healthcare and development.

The government praised itself
Apart from this, the government patted itself on the back and said that the National Education Policy has brought about a lot of changes. 7 IITs, 11 IITs, and 15 AIIMS hospitals have been built.
